ERHS ICA Meeting Notes: October 28, 2013

Kiwanis International Foundation:

-helps children in many ways

-reaches children through grants/scholarships

-core values: stewardship, transparency, responsiveness, legacy, integrity, trust

*strive to earn trust

-multi-million dollar organization *generosity

-25 silver dollars donated in 1940

Rotary:

-Nancy Hughes: saved lives, improved the environment, created new latin jobs

-Kwi Won Park- "mother of medicine", repaired defects in children

-LOVE: community works with neighbors

-What makes us different?: see differentiality/unique, think differently, act responsibly & passionate, make a difference

-How do we work?: led by members, connection with Rotary International Foundation, responsible leaders

-How do we get here?: est. since 1905, helpful with international service organization U.N.E.S

-How do we use our funds?: making most of donations, greatful

Fraternal Order of the Eagles:

-organized to combine many healthcare related funds, children's charity funds and undesignated donations received by the eagles each year in order to streamline administrative expenses and make giving easier

-charity foundation consists of the diabetes research center and special projects such as the Grand Worthy President's Project, Grand Madam President's Projects and the Projects of individual State/Provincial Presidents

-Circle of Life program, added in 2006 to answer the need of many members who fully believe in the Eagles, but may not have the opportunity to participate
