Executive Summary: STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation

I am very pleased with how this organization has grown now that we are in the year 2014. I am grateful for the volunteers who made this possible from the very first to the most current. I cherish the memories of those who believed in this in the beginning when it required such great risk. The initial conception began in 2011. We incorporated in November of 2012. We have hit many benchmarks since and we will continue to grow in other countries as volunteers join worldwide.

In reference to how we've grown as an international group:

STUDENTdirect International is a division of the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation. The Foundation is comprised of four divisions: STUDENTdirect International, STUDENTdirect Studios, STUDENTdirect Productions, STUDENTdirect Publications.

Further students and advisors can get involved with STUDENTdirect via our programs. For volunteers at large Initiating Community Action is the official volunteer program of the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation. Currently Initiating Community Action's focus is the STUDENTdirect Youth Initiative and the ICA Displaced Initiative. In regards to the youth we advocate programs that implement sports and the performing and visual arts in its curriculum. We have multiple chapters, please contact us at: ICA@mySTUDENTdirect.com

Having STUDENTdirect as a strategic partner via Initiating Community Action, this is an example of what can be accomplished. Initiating Community Action through well advised grants advocates change through community events. For instance, we raised over $13,000 in one night in a single event. Over a series of events that $13,000 became $60,000 plus. With consistency and strategic planning we always achieve to do more.We have high expectations for 2014.

In addition, cultural diversity has always been a vital component of the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation as demonstrated in our program Multi Ethnic Cultural Association. For students and advisors who are interested we do the following:

  • Create a forum for student ambassadors to advocate the cultural climate of the nations around the world.
  • Organize screenings (STUDENTdirect Documentaries) to educate their student body.
  • Host "A Night of Cultural Diversity".

Further for those interested in multi-media students and advisors can get involved with MECA Entertainment. At MECA Entertainment you can do the following:

  • Draft multi-media projects to be worked on with a team of driven students.
  • Organize promotional booths to improve public relations on upcoming community events and campaigns.
  • Host "An Evening of Arts and Fashion".

To conclude to better facilitate our operations, many volunteers who have taken on the challenge and responsibilities of leadership undergo a 6 week intensive community management workshop series. Once completed they receive a certificate from the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation as well as eligibility for grants for their projects. The type of scholarships they qualify for is based upon their rank. Ranks are determined by the success of their accomplishments within STUDENTdirect and recommendations from their peers and mentors.

In this way, we at the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation truly believe we are shaping the students who will influence and define our future. A closer look at our "Leadership Diversity Development Workshops" please share, we would appreciate the support.
